Social Media Content and Monitoring Tools to Make My Job Easier
Around this time every year, you may take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful things and opportunities in your life, especially on Thanksgiving, the day of “thanks”.
Although, we don’t need a holiday to be thankful, I would like to reflect on a few things that I am thankful to have in my “social media life”.
Organizing the Chaos
At the agency level, it can be somewhat chaotic trying to remember if I have responded to a certain comment or been active and engaging enough of each individual social media channel that we operate for our clients. This is why I need a social management software program. A great management software can make all the difference, whether it is HootSuite, SproutSocial, or Hubspot inbox, it really helps keep things organized. Once you find a software that works best for you—because you’re the one using the software, not anyone else—you can keep things organized the way you like them. Management software allows you to respond to engagement from all of your different socials per account!
The obsessive to-do list creator inside of me finds this as a very happy thing in life.
Content is King
I’m not sure I could do my job without great content – which is why I am thankful for the content management team at IMA. Without content, what could I post on all of our social channels? Not much, that's for sure.
In any office setting, teamwork really can make the dream work. Social media is the perfect textbook case of that statement. Great content is comprised of high quality and relevant materials that consumers will enjoy. Not only should social content be high quality, but it should be creative as well as informative. That’s a lot of components that can go into one piece of content. Luckily, our content team is great and they help make the job easier!
A Different Perspective
Being a social media manger, some tasks can be very challenging and time consuming, maybe even monotonous at times. It’s hard not to think, “Is my hard work paying off?”. That is why I am thankful for analytics and insights.
Facebook is one of those social media channels I love because of Facebook insights. I can view page likes: Are they increasing? Decreasing? I can get an idea if engagement is high or low. Or I can even see when the page is being visited the most! All of these features give an “insight” to what is working and what isn’t working. If something isn’t working it’s easier to tell what to fix or not fix.
Be Seen, Get Heard
Promotion is another thing to be thankful for as a social media manager. Whether it’s consumers or other pages promoting our content or promotion of our own content via ads and promoted posts. No matter how you look at it, promotion is a benefit to you and your brand.
Social media is a two-way street though. In order to get people to share your content, you need to share theirs as well. Give back to other influencers and pages by sharing their content. Give someone else something to be thankful for. This is a win-win situation. You have more content promoted on your channel and the other page or influencer is also getting their information shared. Who knows, they may even return the favor back to you!
Last but not least…..
I hope I can speak for every brand on this but, I am very thankful for awesome consumers, influencers, fans, readers….I am thankful for YOU! Thank you for engaging with us and sharing our content whether it is via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+. However you engage and share with us, thank you!
Feedback is a blessing to the job. It helps our content team create great content and it also helps the social team know what content you are wanting. This is a team effort not only amongst our IMA team but including YOU as a part of that team. So thank you for being a part of our social media world!
