48hrs of Inbound Marketing Madness
Well, we couldn't think of a better place to start for our first blog post than the 2012 Inbound Marketing Summit in New York last week. As you can see in the picture above the event was packed with incredible speakers that delivered awesome content.
#IMS12 (Twitter hashtag) was the 1st conference that our special agents attended as a team of Inbound Marketing Agents, as most of us have been working inbound marketing on our own or with our respective companies prior to coming together to form what we call the "Inbound Geek Squad", and because Chris Brogan was attending.
One of the great aspects of IMS12 is that it was filled with industry experts from across the country and internationally, some of which we know, and some became new friends as we shared best practices and listened to the panels.
The content delivered by the panelist's was very engaging and sequenced through the day as the later panelist's would refer back to previous topics and speakers.
Day 2 of IMS12 was loaded with banter and liveliness as the two speakers we most wanted to see took the stage.
First, was Chris Brogan and boy was he on target and funny. Chris talks a lot about businesses listening and engaging to their clients rather it be on the phone or via social media and this was no different. He gets it! I guess this is why he is ranked as the #1 social media expert in the country by Forbes Magazine. The best take away from Day 2 was "Don't hump my leg" via Chris Brogan as he was talking about why we as marketers and businesses should not self promote via social media channels.
The next guest speaker was Laura (@Pistachio) Fitton from HubSpot. WOW, was Laura dynamic and insightful as a HubSpot evangalist. Laura broke down the pillars of inbound marketing and displayed why HubSpot is leading the industry in automated marketing software (see pic below).
Aside from Laura's dynamic personality, passion for inbound marketing, and tremendous ability to engage and connect with the crowd is her ability to simplify the complicated and ever changing evolution of inbound marketing. Laura's ability to do this is right in line with the methodology and culture of HubSpot. HubSpot's ability to automate my inbound marketing efforts is why I have been a customer for 3 years and now a value added reseller and partner.
